Book of the Month: Deluxe
Slowly but surely the author talks us through the state of the luxury industry. And though the book was published more than 7 years ago, it is even more true now than ever.
The values many of us consider as a core of the high fashion brands, are simply not there anymore in many cases. And their main drive is that of making a profit.
Of course, this does not apply for all fashion brands and Thomas makes a compelling cases for a few that still hold the ideas like "supreme quality" and "locally made' dear to their hearts.
But what does a fashion lover do if even the high fashion brands not to be trusted? The conclusion you can draw from reading this book is this: use your judgment. Not all "made in China" labels mean poor quality. Not all "made in Italy" means it was actually made there. Do you research and pick the brands who you believe. Learn where your clothes come from.
